A MacBook as the machine that travels with its owner
MetaTrader 4 and 5 install on macOS, and on a laptop that belongs to the trader that is the route worth taking. Charts, templates and window arrangements are stored on the machine, so the setup opens the same way in a different city as it did at home, without being rebuilt each time.
A Mac in a hotel business centre or on a colleague's desk is a different case. There the browser platform is the sensible answer: it runs in Safari, adds nothing to the computer, and ends when the session is signed out, leaving the machine as it was found.
Both routes lead to the same account, so a week that starts on an installed terminal and finishes in a borrowed browser is still one continuous account rather than two. What changes is only how much of the setup lives on the computer in front of you.
